The Government of Madhya Pradesh has launched the Pratibha Kiran Scholarship. This Scholarship is managed by the Department of Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh. The scholarship is available for all the girl students statewide. The students only have to be under the poverty line. This scholarship is to encourage the female students of the State to pursue higher education. Through this scheme, the students will be provided an amount of ₹5000 as academic support.

Pursuing higher education is not a cheap task in India. The expenses are high and courses are costly. Many of the students in the state of Madhya Pradesh come from a weak financial background. Especially the girl students who aspire to complete their higher education are sometimes unable to do so because of the high cost of such an educational level. This affects their education as well as personal growth. In long term, this can even put the country backwards in Women’s Education.

To tackle this condition, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has launched a scholarship called the “Pratibha Kiran Scholarship” yojana in 2008 to provide financial support to the female students pursuing higher education. This scheme is operated & managed under the Department of Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh. All female students suffering from poor economic conditions can apply for this scholarship. The annual amount of the scholarship is ₹5000. This amount will be given to the beneficiary students in 10 monthly instalments. Every month a beneficiary student receives ₹500 to their bank accounts.

Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Although female students from every category are eligible for the scholarship, there are some minor Eligibility Criterias existing in the matter. The students must always consider checking the Eligibility criteria as these are the determining factors in the distribution of the scholarship. The Eligibility criteria for Pratibha Kiran Scholarship are listed below.

• Only female students are eligible for the scholarship.
• The student must come from a weak financial background (BPL).
• The student must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
• The student must have at least 60% marks in the 12th board examination.
• The scholarship will be given to students who are pursuing an undergraduate course from a recognised college or university.

Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Registration Process 

If you are a student who passes all the eligibility criteria then you must apply for the scholarship. But before submitting the application, you have to register yourself in the official portal. The registration process is described below in a few steps.

• Visit the Madhya Pradesh State Scholarship Portal via the URL: https://scholarshipportal.mp.nic.in/. 
• Select the “New Registration for Pratibha Kiran Yojana” option in the Schemes of Higher Education section.
• As the registration form opens up, fill out all the necessary details such as Name, Parent’s name, Date of Birth, etc.
• Select the options for your Category, Religion, Mobile Number, Email ID, Aadhar Number, 9 digit SAMAGRA ID, Present & Permanent Address with Block, Pin number, District & State.
• Then put the tick on the checkbox that says “I Agree”.
• Enter the captcha code.
• Finally, submit the registration form after reviewing the application.

Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Online Application 

After successful registration, the student can apply for the scholarship now. The step by step application process is as follows.

• Visit to the official website of the State Scholarship Portal @https://scholarshipportal.mp.nic.in/. 
• Enter your username & password then fill out the captcha code and click on “Login”.
• Select the option saying “Apply Online”.
• Enter details like 12’th education details, Year of Passing, School Name, Roll Number etc.
• Upload the documents such as your photograph, 12’th marksheet etc.
• Fill in your bank details.
• Select the option “Apply for Pratibha Kiran” and enter the Branch code of the institution, institute code, course year, enrollment date, and enrollment number, and click on Update Application.
• Now lock the application from your application dashboard and submit it and this wraps up the application process.

Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Status Check

After submitting the application for the Pratibha Kiran Scholarship, the students can track the progress of their application. The applicants can check the status of their application via a few simple steps. The status tracking process is as follows.

• Browse to the MP State Scholarship Portal.
• Select the option “Student Login” under the Student Corner section.
• Enter user ID, password & fill in the captcha.
• Click on the “Track Status On Your Application” option.
• Enter Application ID & Academic year.
• Click on the “ShowMy Application” option. The application status will be visible on your screen.
