Labour Card Scholarship 2024 Registration, Application, Eligibility 

The Government of Karnataka has launched the Labour card scholarship for the welfare of the students of Karnataka. The beneficiaries of this scheme will be the children of the labour class. This scheme will give the students financial support so that they can proceed with their education without the hesitation of financial pressure. This scheme is managed by the Karnataka Labour Welfare Board. Students can apply online to become a beneficiary. The annual amount provided by the scholarship is up to ₹11,000.

The labour class has always suffered in the financial crisis. In the education sector, this issue is also prominent. Educational expenses are all-time high nowadays. The average parent from the labour class can’t support their children financially resulting in many of the students leaving their education & ambition behind. This affects the lives of the students and in the longer term slows down the growth of the state & country by a dangerous amount. To counter this issue, the Government of Kerala has launched the Labour Card Scholarship.

This scheme attempts to support students from the labour class financially so that they can carry on with their studies without financial pressure. The scholarship is looked after by the Labour Welfare Board of Karnataka. The students are given an annual amount of up to ₹11,000. Labour Card Scholarship Eligibility 

It is important to know the Eligibility criteria before trying to apply for the scholarship. Not everyone will get the scholarship. So the students need to understand all the eligibility criteria first & then consider applying if they are eligible. The Eligibility criteria for the Labour Card Scholarship are as follows.

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka state.
• The family income of the candidate must come from a manufacturing, agriculture or construction sector.
• The parent of the student must have a government permit as a labourer.
• The monthly household income of the student must be under up to ₹35,000.
• There must be a prominent reason for the need for the scholarship.
• The applicant student must be enrolled in higher education such as college or university.
• The students from the general category must have secured 50% and the SC/ST students must have secured 45% marks in the last academic examination.
• The student must have a good academic record & decent attendance.

Labour Card Scholarship Registration & Application 

After checking the eligibility criteria out, if the students think that they are eligible for the scholarship, they can do so. If the student is already in the portal he can proceed with the application. In case If the student is not already in the portal the student has to register and then apply for the scholarship. The step-by-step registration & application process is as follows.

• Visit the official application portal via the URL: https://klwbapps.karnataka.gov.in/.
• Click on the “Login” button appearing on the header.
• Click on “New Registration”.
• Enter the mobile number, and e-mail ID, complete the verification captcha, create a password & click on the register button.
• The registration is now complete, log into the portal with the credentials generated previously.
• Click on “Apply for Scholarship”.
• As the application form comes up, fill out the necessary personal & academic qualification details.
• Attach & upload the scanned copy of the required documents.
• Enter your parents’ work details, such as industry, monthly salary etc.
• Click on Apply after rechecking all the details. The application process is now complete. Keep a copy of the application’s final page for future usage.

Labour Card Scholarship Documentation Required 

For verification purposes, the applicant will have to Submit some important documents to the portal. The documents are required to be scanned and then uploaded during the application process. The documents required for the Labour Card Scholarship are as follows.

• Bank Passbook
• Income Certificate
• Cast Certificate (optional)
• Employee ID card

Labour Card Scholarship Status Check

After successful application, the students can check the scholarship processing through the portal. The status tracking will keep the applicant aware of the application progress for the scholarship. The steps of checking status are described below.

• Visit the scholarship website homepage @https://klwbapps.karnataka.gov.in/.
• Click on the link that says “View Education Assistance Status”.
• Enter the “Reference number” of the application & click on the “Check” button.
• The application status will be visible on your screen.
